Local Heritage Centre.
Located in a XVIIth century building, the Local Heritage Centre (La Maison du
Patrimoine) was created thanks to the voluntary
organisation Culoz-Patrimoine.
The various exhibitions of photos and documents
will help you to get to know Culoz.
You can find there numerous archeological remains.
In particular you will discover the town’s
most prominent personalities:
The Serpollet brothers, precursors of the motorcar;The most important sites having marked the culozienne life are also mentioned. Amongst them are the train station, the electric power factory, the Castle of Montvéran, the Clos Poncet, and the most important local firms, such as CIAT.
Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross;
Gertrude Stein, the well-known twentieth century American writer, etc.
